We are going to interact with people from an entirely different cultural background, the least we owe them is respect. You might experience a culture shock, you may find some activities completely strange but it still doesn’t change the fact that you are in a foreign country.

You can always decline to partake in activities or try out meals that don’t sit well with you respectfully. If you feel agitated or irritated by anything, some tips like meditation, speaking with a trusted friend or family member, and even exercising might help.

While you are exploring in a foreign country, you could show some acts of kindness to people, most importantly, those who have been of service to you.

Giving tips, offering a smile, sharing, volunteering to help if you can, listening, and paying genuine compliments are just a few ways to show kindness to natives in a foreign country

It pays to be kind.

Sharing a meal goes a long way.

Being of assistance to those in need is comforting. As much as I would love to say that everyone should practice charity, it is not a must that you should. You may have specific reasons why you are visiting a country and donating to charity may not be one of them.

However, you can use several other options which go a long way like showing concern towards the welfare of  the natives, sharing a meal with those who need it, or doing anything in your power to offer help to those who truly need it.

You will always come across those who need some form of help in a foreign country.

LEARN A LITTLE ABOUT THEIR LANGUAGE

learning the language of the indigenous people you are visiting sometimes shows the natives that you are interested in their culture.
